This is a rare black enamel silver Volupté powder compact featuring a lovely raised-silver floral bouquet on front and back and signed ”Gaige” by the designer, Richard Gaige ● The interior has a mirror and a hinged covered powder well ● Marked VOLUPTÉ U.S.A.” on the hinged powder well cover ● It measures 2.5” x 2.5” ● Condition: It's in very good used condition; the spring pressure closures work well, no flaws in the enamel and silver detail, mirror is clear, some light surface scuffing on the interior powder well cover ● Richard Gaige (1907-1992) worked as a freelance designer of exotic and very beautiful lid decorations on the compacts for Volupté before and after WWII.
