Elgin American Compact Mid Century Modern Rare Collectible

This is an elegant mid century modern compact, by Elgin American. It comes in its original soft Elgin American pouch. The cover has a brushed gold finish that is decorated with a beautiful illustration of a Victorian Era Man and Woman in formal dress. The way the design is etched into the top gives the cover definition and contrast. When opened, inside is a large rectangular mirror. The panel that held the powder is stamped "Elgin American Made in U.S.A." Beneath the panel there is no powder or screen, as shown in the next to last photo above.

The compact measures 3-1/2" x 3" x 3/8" and is in good vintage condition with light scratches on the back of the case. The cover is bright and shiny and inside, the mirror is clear. This gorgeous compact with its beautiful graphics is a perfect addition to your vanity, purse or collection.
